Gyetongpa (Brgyad Stong Pa) – Prajnaparamita in 8,000 Verses
Gyetongpa (བརྒྱད་སྟོང་པ་ / brgyad stong pa) is the Tibetan Buddhist text known as the Prajnaparamita in Eight Thousand Verses, or Perfection of Wisdom in 8,000 Verses. It is an important scripture within the Prajnaparamita tradition of Mahayana Buddhism and is traditionally preserved and studied as part of Tibetan Buddhist scriptural literature.
Presented in the distinctive long, horizontal format of traditional Tibetan scripture, this Tibetan Buddhist religious book features Tibetan script and a traditional red cover. Its classic pecha-style presentation makes it particularly suitable for Buddhist practitioners, monasteries, Dharma centres, temples, Buddhist libraries, scholars, and collectors of traditional Tibetan scriptures.
The Prajnaparamita teachings are closely associated with the Buddhist understanding of prajna, or transcendent wisdom, and the profound teachings on emptiness. The Eight Thousand Verses represents one of the important shorter versions of the Prajnaparamita literature.
