Description: Menlha is the Buddha of Healing. Practitioners meditate upon him to alleviate physical, mental, and emotional ailments, and to overcome the inner sickness of ignorance and attachment. Revered as the Medicine Buddha, his presence is a powerful reminder of the body’s natural capacity to heal and the mind's potential for absolute clarity. The Medicine Buddha sits in the full lotus posture of deep meditation. His hands and the items he holds are highly specific to his identity as a healer. This serene figure is an ideal addition to a holistic therapy room, a personal altar, or any space dedicated to health, recovery, and mindful living.

Symbolism & Meaning:

The Right Hand (The Myrobalan Plant): Resting gently over his right knee, his right hand extends downward in the Varada Mudra (the gesture of granting boons). Held delicately between his thumb and index finger is the stem of the Arura (Myrobalan) plant. This sacred herb represents the ultimate medicine, capable of curing the diseases of the mind and body.

The Left Hand (The Healing Bowl): Resting in his lap in the Dhyana Mudra (meditation gesture), his left hand supports an alms bowl (Patra). This bowl is traditionally filled with the nectar of immortality and healing (Amrita), symbolizing his ability to provide the ultimate remedy for all suffering.

The Attire: Unlike the ornately jeweled Bodhisattvas, Menlha is often depicted in the traditional patchwork robes of a fully ordained monk, symbolizing profound humility and detachment from worldly causes of sickness.

Craftsmanship & Material: This statue is machine-casted from durable Brass. Please note: This is a hollow-cast brass item, making it sturdy yet light enough to easily move.

Ideal Placement: Traditionally placed inside a Choesham in a pooja hall or a meditation space, ideally at eye level or higher, and never directly on the floor.
